http://www.cyberrentals.com/rental/p167381 Booking for the 'O8 season is well underway! This is a good time to secure your choice of dates: high season in this area (Camden-Rockport/Midcoast Maine), as you may well know, is booked solid and well in advance each year. Check our calendar for remaining high season weeks! If you are looking for absolutely breathtaking, 360-degree views enjoyed in complete privacy then this surprising summer house is for you. Perched high on a mountainside, five to eight minutes drive from charming harbor towns in mid-coast Maine, this house is of Log/Post and Beam construction with open floor plan, large wraparound porch (from which to count islands or stars or treetops), lofts, cathedral ceiling; windows and skylights on all sides let in the truly magnificent, panoramic vistas. The house sleeps up to eight people in two open loft bedrooms and a cozy, visually private guestroom/library on two Queen sized beds, one Queen sofa bed and one Full-sized futon pullout sofa, all very comfortable. There are more plush Ralph Lauren towels than you will ever be able to use around the large, deep whirl-pool tub or in the stand-up shower; a country kitchen including a classic cast iron/enameled cook stove, gas range, and slate countertops with mountain views from the sink; a powder room with drop-in vessel sink; elegant décor throughout. This house is intimate and romantic, while the views on all sides bring the outside in and lend it an incredibly expansive feel. Jaw-dropping! The area offers a great deal. The traditional summer haunt of old families for generations, the rocky coast of Maine is dotted with over 4000 islands, and a number of them are visible from our wraparound porch. Experienced skippers can charter a boat in one of the nearby harbors and test their skills in one of the three greatest sailing grounds of the world, matched only by the Aegean and the Caribbean. A hiker’s paradise starts just outside your door, with endless trails among the coastal mountains of Edna St. Vincent Millay fame. Fresh seafood at fish shacks and world-class dining; museums for art aficionados; classic tall-ship and schooner trips; whale-watching; lobster-bakes on islands; lighthouses; sea kayak rentals; ferries to island art colonies and tours of classic harbors with grand summerhouses; the possibilities are endless. Acadia National Park with its Cadillac Mountain floats on a band of water on the eastern horizon, and you may catch sight of a bald eagle soaring at eye level or even below you from your loft bedroom! Rates are $2000 a week high season; weeks are Saturday to Saturday, one week minimum stay Memorial Day to Labor Day; $1750-$1850 a week during Spring, Fall Colors and post-Labor Day shoulder seasons (partial weeks available April, May and October with 3 night min. stay); early spring/off season rates are $1550 a week March 29-April 26th; all rates are subject to a 7% State of Maine Lodging Tax; weekly maid-service is included.
