CHIEF OF MUNICIPAL PROSECUTION
The Dallas City Attorney’s Office is seeking a Chief Prosecutor for its Prosecution Section. The Prosecution Section prosecutes violations of the Dallas City Code, Texas Transportation Code and Texas Penal Code Class C misdemeanors.The section includes domestic violence and civil adjudications units.
The Chief Prosecutor will supervise a staff of 25 employees, including 16 prosecutors and an Assistant Chief Prosecutor.The Chief Prosecutor must work closely with other city departments to ensure effective prosecution of municipal ordinances and other Class C misdemeanors.
The successful candidate must have strong leadership skills, experience prosecuting criminal cases, and experience supervising a legal staff.The candidate also should possess excellent oral and written communication skills.Prior civil litigation and/or municipal court experience is a plus.Salary depends on qualifications + city benefits.Closing date: February 29, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.
