IBM Certified Administrator WebSphere MQ (1648) This is a 8 month contract in Plano, TX Job Description Provide engineering and application support for WebSphere MQ and QPasa infrastructure in distributed Unix (HP-UX and AIX) and Windows environments. Deliver new queue managers, queues, channels, triggers, and processes as requested by existing and new applications. Assist applications with troubleshooting problems related to MQ. Implement updates and patches to the MQ infrastructure as needed to resolve issues or remain current in vendor support. Work with application teams to recommend “best practices” for messaging. Act as the primary contact with IBM regarding the opening of support tickets and their resolution. Support will be 24x7 on a rotating basis. Must be locally based to work out of the Plano Parkwood site. Skill Sets Ability to work with other technical teams, ability to manage projects (small to medium scope), strong communications skills (verbal and written), willing to participate in rotating call schedule, familiarity with Unix (HP-UX), Perl, Java (1.4 and 1.5), and korn shell, administration experience with WMQ 5.3 or higher on distributed platforms, experience with QPasa. MVS/zOS background and integration with other middleware products (TIBCO BW/EMS, SAP XI, WebLogic, CORBA, Informatica) a huge plus.
