We are currently interviewing Mainframe Programmers for an exciting 6 month contract to hire opportunity located in Dallas, TX. If you'd like to be a part of a brand new team and project from ground zero, then this opportunity is right for you! Position will initially be for 6 months with the possibility of extensions if you prove yourself a superstar!
Required skills:
Significant experience with TSO/ISPF, SDSF, VSAM, CICS. Experience with COBOL (preferably COBOL390). Expert in JCL setup and a comprehensive understanding of PROCs, overrides and batch processing. Experience with Endevor change management (or the use of) as well as Rexx. Experience with IBM utilities such as IDCAMS and IEBGENER for the manipulation of data. Experience with debugging tools (FileAid, Max/Data Util). Experience reading program abend dumps (prefer DUMPMASTER). Experience with ZEKE/ZEBB or significant knowledge of other job scheduling/restart packages. Basic understanding in the use of Network Data Mover (NDM or Connect:Direct). Good troubleshooting skills. Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects. Self-motivated. Good communication skills. Ability to contribute to the overall planning of the project. Understands the processes involved in setting up and/or transitioning new systems. Ability to work under tight schedules and deadlines. Ability to complete projects on time.
